Code of Conduct and Ethics for Caribbean NGOs Consultation:
Grenada, January 17th, 2017
The Inter Agency Group of Development Organisations (IAGDO) hosted the Grenada leg of the consultation re the Code of Conduct and Ethics for Caribbean NGOs on January 17th , 2017 at the conference room of the Grenada National Stadium. Twenty-seven persons – 20 women and 7 men – from seventeen organisations participated. The consultation was an activity of the Civil Society Regional Development Regional Project being implemented by the Caribbean Policy Development Centre with support from the European Union. The consultation was facilitated by Ms. Shantal Munro-Knight, consultant on behalf of CPDC. The consultant noted that donors were requesting greater accountability and transparency from organisations to whom they gave the support. Signing -on to the Code would improve the trust and the relations between organisations and donors/partners. However, while CPDC was encouraging organisations to become signatories to the Code, adherence was voluntary.
