MISSION STATEMENT

“NEWLO’S mission is to provide quality Life and Vocational Skills training for disadvantaged youth of all religions and creeds, facilitating growth and development of the individual in relation to the family, the community, and the nation.”

BENEFICIARIES

  • Youth between the ages 17 – 24 years
  • Youth living rural and vulnerable communities where there are fewer opportunities for training and employment.
  • Unemployed / Underemployed
  • School drop out

  • Commercial Food Preparation, Restaurant Service, Bar Service, Front Desk Operations and House Keeping (Hospitality Arts)

  • Carpentry
  • Masonry
  • General Construction/Maintenance
  • General Office Administration
  • Garment Construction
  • Early Childhood Development
  • Air-Conditioning/Refrigeration & Small Appliance Repairs

Strategies: Competency-based (Hands-on practical training), Internship 

ICT: Computer Engineering (CISCO IT Essential and CompTIA Strata Fundamentals and A+ Certificate programmes)

ICT Programme affiliated with three international organizations –All headquartered in the USA:

  • CISCO Networking Academy
  • CompTIA (Computing Technology Industry Association)
  • Pearson Vue – NEWLO is now  has an online testing site.

All three programmes sponsored by the Camerhogne Foundation under the patronage of the Governor General – Sir Carlyle Glean

  • ICT Testing Site – Pearson Vue
  • Skills training which results in employment opportunities particular for young men: Ratio of Boys to Girls is 7:3
  • Influencing the lives of over two thousand, seven hundred (2,700) young men and women thus impacting their lives, the family, the community and Grenada in general.
